Pumpkin Rock is a large natural boulder atop a hill in Norco's Ingalls Park, roughly 15 feet tall, that has been informally repainted by unknown local volunteers as a jack-o'-lantern (currently styled after Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas) since the mid-1990s. Previously nicknamed "Elephant Butt Rock" for a gray crack down its middle, it became a pumpkin sometime around 1994 and has been maintained in that painted form -- refreshed especially around Halloween -- by anonymous community members ever since, drawing hundreds to thousands of hikers each year.
