A 20-foot fiberglass 'Muffler Man' holding a giant hamburger stands atop the Pal's Sudden Service restaurant at 1316 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport, Tennessee. Founder Fred 'Pal' Barger purchased the figure and installed it on the roof of this second Pal's location in 1962 as a marketing landmark; it has since been repainted to resemble a Pal's employee (blue shirt, black pants) while still holding the giant burger.
