FIELD GUIDE
The story
A grazier found bones in a creek bed in 1963, and the animal ended up named after the town.
RACQ records Muttaburra as the original discovery site, and notes that at the time of discovery the specimen was the most complete dinosaur fossil found in Australia and the first to be cast and mounted. The full-scale replica is at the Muttaburrasaurus Interpretation Centre at 9 Bruford Street.
