FIELD GUIDE
The story
Music Row's welcome is nine dancers, each more than twice life-size, bursting out of a roundabout. Musica, by Nashville sculptor Alan LeQuire, stands in Buddy Killen Circle at the top of Music Row, beside Owen Bradley Park, according to the Nashville Historical Foundation.
The foundation dates the work to 2003; LeQuire says it was transported from a bronze foundry in Wyoming to Nashville in 2004. He describes nine dancing figures in a circular composition roughly 40 feet tall, five springing from the base in a vase form and four rising in the centre. Each is 14 to 15 feet, and the base is part bronze and part natural limestone boulders. LeQuire calls it the largest bronze figure group in the United States, and NewsChannel 5 says it is considered to be.
