Kicks 66 is a red aluminum cowboy boot sculpture about 35 feet tall in the east parking lot of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, opened in June 2026 to honor Route 66's 100th anniversary. Artist Cameron Eagle finished it in rosso corsa racing red. Visit OKC gives its weight as about 7.5 tons; KFOR reported six tons. Over 1.2 miles of white LED lights run inside the boot, and its green tones draw on photographs of Oklahoma City prickly pear cactus. Eagle says it is one inch taller than San Antonio's 35 ft 3 in boots and is submitting it to Guinness World Records; no record is confirmed.

The story

A 35-foot red aluminum cowboy boot opened in Oklahoma City in June 2026 to mark the 100th anniversary of Route 66.
Kicks 66 stands in the east parking lot of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, 1700 NE 63rd. VisitOKC says it honors the centennial, weighs about 7.5 tons and is lit from within by about 1.2 miles of LED lights; KFOR reported six tons of aluminum. Oklahoma artist Cameron Eagle designed it with Jim Gleason of GS Signs, a third-generation sign maker, News 9 reported, adding that Eagle won an international design competition. VisitOKC lists MAPS 4 as the funding source, and News 9 says the project also benefited from the city's 1% for Art ordinance.
