Southern Arizona is an unlikely place for a Chicago hot dog stand, but Bisbee has one, and it announces itself with a 12-foot-tall wiener on the roof. Arizona Highways describes Jimmy's Hot Dog Co. as occupying a building the color of ballpark mustard.
According to Arizona Highways, owner Jimmy Pionke worked at some iconic Chicago hot dog stands in his youth and knew what he wanted when he started his own. The magazine describes a lunchtime crowd filling a few tables and a stainless steel counter, and a Chicago dog made with Vienna all-beef hot dogs in natural casings on a poppy seed bun from S. Rosen's. The restaurant's own website adds Italian beef, Italian sausage, burgers and seafood, with Italian bread brought in from the northwest side of Chicago.
