FIELD GUIDE
The story
Jeff was named after a politician, and he burned down at half past one in the morning.
The dinosaur arrived at Clive Palmer's Coolum resort in 2012 – a roughly ten-metre animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex installed beside the golf course of what had, until recently, been the Hyatt Regency Coolum, one of Queensland's premier five-star escapes. The resort had hosted the Australian PGA Championship and a Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting opened by Queen Elizabeth II. Now it had a T-Rex on the fairway.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Jeff was a roughly ten-metre, life-size animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex model that stood beside the golf course at Palmer Coolum Resort, later known as Palmersaurus, in Yaroomba/Coolum. It was the resort's best-known early dinosaur and became a widely reported landmark.
ACCESS
Historical record only. Jeff was destroyed in 2015 and no longer exists. The Palmer Coolum golf course remains an operating commercial property, so do not visit expecting to see the dinosaur.
