This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
Harbie the Harbor Seal, a fiberglass advertising mascot originally made for the Southern California "Harbor Gas" filling-station chain (active in the LA/Orange County area into the early 1970s), holding a lantern in one outstretched hand and a sponge in the other. This particular statue originally stood at a Harbor Gas station at Avenue J and Sierra Highway in Lancaster in the early 1950s. When the original Crazy Otto's Diner relocated from Sierra Highway to its current Avenue K location in 1994 (displaced by Metrolink railroad expansion), Harbie moved with it and now sits on the roof of Crazy Otto's Diner in Lancaster.
