Hammond Lumber Lumberjack

A large wooden lumberjack figure has been described at a working yard on US Route 4, in the Orange and Canaan area of New Hampshire. Yankee magazine's guide to New England's roadside giants says: "In Canaan, New Hampshire, a 12-foot-tall Lumberjack marks the spot for Hammond Lumber." A 2016 Valley News feature describes a large wooden lumberjack at the Hammond Grinding and Recycling facility. The company website uses the name Hammond Grinding, gives 1444 US Route 4, Orange, as its address and describes the location as US Route 4 in Orange and Canaan. It says the family-owned business has been in the same place for over 90 years and runs a permitted solid waste facility with dumpster rental and demolition services. The company's website carries photographs captioned as a statue and flag near its welcome sign. This is a working commercial yard rather than a visitor attraction.
