Guitar Hotel

A hotel built to look like a guitar is an unusual idea, and the Guitar Hotel carries it through at the scale of a skyscraper. The 450-foot tower stands at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and opened on 24 October 2019 as part of a $1.5 billion expansion of the Seminole Tribe's resort. PokerNews reported 638 rooms and suites, and said the expansion also added a spa, convention space and a rebuilt Hard Rock Live venue with seating for 7,000.

The design was meant literally. When the project was unveiled in 2017, Seminole Gaming chief executive Jim Allen told NBC 6 South Florida: "It will be the first building in the world that's truly to scale designed as an authentic guitar." Hard Rock describes the result as back-to-back guitars with guitar faces, floor-to-ceiling glass panes and brightly lit strings. Associated Press reporting at the opening, carried by WPTV, said beams of light at night are meant to replicate the guitar's strings, and said no hotel is like it in the world.
