This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
A large bronze statue depicting a winged golden figure (widely identified as the Archangel Michael) riding a chariot pulled by seven horses, valued at roughly $600,000, standing on the grounds of IRC Surplus along the I-10 frontage road in Sealy, Texas. Though popularly assumed to be gold-painted fiberglass, the statue is genuinely cast bronze; its gilding has largely weathered to a bronze patina, though the harness/reins retain a shiny gold-wire appearance.
