This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
A 40-foot-tall stag sculpture built from rusty car fenders, license plates, typewriters, wheels, bicycle seats, engine parts, and other scrap metal, created by Mexico City sculptor Florentino Narcis, then disassembled and shipped to Texas as the centerpiece of 'The Parc at Escondido' housing development in Converse, just outside San Antonio. Lit at night by orange-filtered spotlights that give the rusted metal a golden glow. Real stags stand roughly 3.5-4 ft at the shoulder (taller with antlers), so the 40-ft sculpture is dramatically oversized.
