FIELD GUIDE
The story
From at least August 2017, four giant Beatles stood in a brewery backyard east of downtown Houston. The statues, by Houston sculptor David Adickes, showed John, George and Paul standing and Ringo seated at the drums in Sgt. Pepper attire. 365 Things to Do in Houston gave the standing figures as 36 feet tall in 2017; CultureMap that year reported four tons per Beatle and a $350,000 asking price for the set.
The Chronicle reported on 4 August 2025 that cranes had dismantled the statues. According to the paper, Adickes, who died in July 2025, had sold them about six months earlier to a friend who runs a Houston-area auto group. That friend said they would eventually be installed at a Mazda dealership on the Gulf Freeway in Webster, and later moved among his other dealerships. The Chronicle called the statues 32 feet tall.
