FIELD GUIDE
The story
It was designed to explode, and on 31 May 2009 it did.
The Fruit Burst strawberry was a giant inflatable fruit mounted on a nine-by-six-metre billboard at the corner of Victoria and Albert Streets in central Auckland, and the campaign's entire mechanism was time. The balloon was inflated progressively over the course of the run, swelling further out of the hoarding week by week, until it burst.
