FIELD GUIDE

The story

Ethos was the first artwork the National Capital Development Commission commissioned for a public place in Canberra, which makes it the origin point of the city's entire public art collection.
Tom Bass made the winged copper figure, co-sponsored by the Canberra Chamber of Commerce, and it stands in Civic Square outside what is now the ACT Legislative Assembly. It is heritage-listed.
