FIELD GUIDE
The story
A sleeping dragon covered in about 1,100 Utah license plates rests in a park in Bountiful, Utah, a tribute from an artist to his late father.
Utah artist Deveren Farley made the sculpture, which he titled Dad. Fox 13 reported in 2023 that its scales are about 1,100 Utah license plates and its wings are street signs. St. George News reported in 2022 that the idea came after Farley's father died in May 2021. "Thinking of my dad, there are two things, dragons and Disney," Farley said, explaining that a sleeping dragon stands for his father resting in peace.
