This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
A small house on Huntsville, Texas's main downtown thoroughfare built and designed in the shape of a giant white cowboy hat, by local artist/builder Dan Phillips (who also built a paired Cowboy Boot House nearby), using recycled/salvage construction materials. The hat's crown provides a rooftop deck. Purchased in 2024 by preservation-minded new owners after a development threat to the site.
