"Coralee," an 18-foot-long mermaid sculpture made of recycled glass and mixed metals by Bay Area artist Dana Albany, originally created for the 2022 "Radical Horizons: The Art of Burning Man" exhibition at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, England (with local English schoolchildren helping craft her glass scales from recycled bottles). Coralee was installed at Pier 1 1/2 on San Francisco's Embarcadero, just north of the Ferry Building, unveiled September 30, 2025 as the launch piece of the Port of San Francisco/Sijbrandij Foundation's "Big Art Loop" initiative, which plans to bring more than 100 large-scale sculptures to the city's waterfront over three years. Reported installation period runs through September 2026.
