FIELD GUIDE
The story
A stainless-steel rabbit, 35 feet tall by the winery's account, began as a nursery rhyme sung to children; HALL's website describes it leaping out of a Napa Valley vineyard, visible from Highway 29.
Bunny Foo Foo was installed at HALL Wines in St. Helena in 2014, and HALL's website still presents it. HALL says the winery's owners sang "Little Bunny Foo Foo" to their children while walking through a family vineyard in Mendocino, and that after seeing Lawrence Argent's Leap rabbit at Sacramento Airport and his I See What You Mean in Denver, they contacted him. FFJournal reported that the owners commissioned the piece. The Napa Valley Register reported in March 2014 that the sculptor had installed it the week before and that the word "little" had been dropped from the title.
