FIELD GUIDE
The story
Bruce, the great white shark, was once a rooftop fixture at a Cranston nightclub, and his arrival at a clam shack drew a quip about Cape Cod.
The Mardi Gras multi-club in Cranston, Rhode Island, closed in November 2017 after 28 years in business, What's Up Newp reported in March 2018, and the shark was listed on Facebook for $1,000. NBC 10 reported in June 2019 that the 25-foot, 900-pound shark had spent two months being repaired by art students at St. George's School, who replaced the teeth and painted it. It was lifted by crane into place in front of Flo's Clam Shack in Middletown on Sunday 16 June 2019, and NBC 10 said his fins would be added on Monday. The station quoted the line "Cape Cod, it's not the only place with a great white shark."
