The story

A fiberglass black Angus steer that spent decades on the roof of Anthony's Steakhouse in Omaha was moved in 2022 to ground level at a truck stop in Columbus, Nebraska, where, as reported that summer, visitors could walk up and touch it.
According to the Omaha World-Herald in 2022, the steer reached Omaha in the late 1960s. A man driving it across the country to a buyer learned the sale had fallen through, stopped at the steakhouse and sold it there. Tony Fucinaro Jr. said his father bought it about two years after Anthony's opened and towed it to parades before it went on the building; he told KMTV he thought that was in the early 1970s. Reports give the size as about 14 feet long and 8 feet high, though KMTV later called it 10 by 20 feet.

WHAT TO EXPECT
In 2022 reports, the steer stood at ground level at the T-Bone Truck Stop, where visitors touched it and took photos. The truck stop is a working business with a small café, and two large painted cowboy boots mark its entrances.
ACCESS
Reported in 2022 at the T-Bone Truck Stop, at the corner of U.S. 30 and U.S. 81 on the south side of Columbus. It is on a working business's grounds, so normal truck-stop traffic applies.
