The Bigfoot Family, hand-carved wooden sculptures by local artist Jack Howery, stands on the eastbound side of US Highway 19/460 in Pounding Mill (Tazewell County), Virginia. The figures are nearly 14 feet tall and weigh about a ton each. Local news coverage confirms the family remains standing; only the lead figure's originally glowing eyes were removed (they proved too alarming for passing motorists), not the sculptures themselves.
