FIELD GUIDE

The story

Clawdia is named for the competitors in the Moonie Yabbie Races.
The biennial races are what a very small Western Downs settlement has instead of a show, and they are exactly what they sound like: freshwater crayfish, a marked course, and a great deal of barracking. The bright oversized yabby standing near the Visitor Information Centre and Rural Transaction Centre is the town's monument to them, and Western Downs tourism describes her as one of the region's most photographed roadside attractions.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Clawdia celebrates Moonie’s Yabbie Races and is one of the Western Downs’ recognised roadside photo landmarks. The sculpture itself is independently map-checked beside the Moonie Rural Transaction Centre; only the preferred lawful vehicle arrival/parking remains unresolved.
ACCESS
Clawdia the Big Yabbie is independently map-checked at approximately -27.717028, 150.370515 beside the Moonie Rural Transaction Centre at Lot 37 Leichhardt Highway. This is the sculpture point, not a parking destination. Direct navigation remains withheld until a lawful RTC visitor entrance/parking point is independently pinned.
