FIELD GUIDE

The story

Tamborine Mountain's giant bottle is made of wire, which puts it in a different class from the solid fibreglass bottles elsewhere in this collection.
A wire-frame sculpture describes an object without filling it in – the outline reads clearly against the sky while the thing remains transparent, so the bottle is simultaneously unmistakable and not really there. It is a much lighter and more contemporary approach than a moulded shell, and it weathers differently: no paint to chalk, no gelcoat to craze, just a frame.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The oversized bottle remains a current Gallery Walk landmark at 128 Long Road: current 2026 tourism material still uses it as the visual marker for Mount Tamborine Winery and recent Big Things registers retain it at the same site. Normal winery trading/access remains disputed, so the sculpture is treated as current but access-restricted rather than status-uncertain.
ACCESS
The bottle is currently evidenced at 128 Long Road, Tamborine Mountain, but normal venue trading/access remains unclear. Do not assume the former winery is open or use private/customer areas unless the property is clearly open to the public; no turn-by-turn visitor destination is currently provided.
