FIELD GUIDE

The story

A Dutch windmill on the Pacific Highway, and a motel that has been trading behind it since 1968.
The Coffs Windmill Motel calls itself a beloved icon on the Coffs Coast since 1968, with an on-site restaurant, Em's Windmill Kitchen, and it still uses the windmill as the landmark that tells drivers where to turn. That is the honest function of the thing and always has been: at highway speed, on a strip of motels that otherwise look identical, a windmill is unmissable.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The current Coffs Windmill Motel still trades at 168 Pacific Highway and explicitly uses the giant windmill as a driving landmark. The property operates as a motel with an onsite restaurant and visitor parking.
ACCESS
Navigate to Coffs Windmill Motel at 168 Pacific Highway. Follow the operator's driving directions carefully: there is no direct property access when travelling southbound from central Coffs Harbour, so drivers must turn safely and approach northbound. Respect motel and restaurant patron areas.
