FIELD GUIDE

The story

Pete Stacey saw a photograph of a giant wooden clothes peg standing in a field in Belgium, and decided the paddock at home needed one.
His version weighs 750 kilograms and is made of metal rather than timber. The Stacey family designed it and Jake Willis of Canowindra fabricated it, and it was installed in the family's paddock beside the Cargo Road, between Canowindra and the village of Cargo in the New South Wales central west.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Current 2026 specialist material, a December 2024 licensed photograph and an October 2025 field photograph all confirm the Big Peg remains in place. It is on private property and is intended to be viewed from the roadside rather than entered or climbed.
ACCESS
View the Big Peg only from a safe legal public location; do not enter the private paddock. A conservative pull-off has not yet been verified.
