FIELD GUIDE

The story

The community raised forty-six thousand dollars, and the last six thousand of it came from a quiz night.
The Shire of Williams describes the Lions Park attraction as a three-metre life-like fibreglass giant numbat, linked to awareness of the numbat population in the nearby Dryandra Woodland. Project Numbat's own account records the fundraising: a successful quiz night raising just over six thousand dollars as the final tranche, the sculpture then well underway and due for installation by mid-July, and the total of forty-six thousand raised with support from the Williams community and its local council.
