FIELD GUIDE
The story
Bowen has the famous Big Mango. Mutarnee has the one with legs.
The Big Mango Man stands outside the Frosty Mango on the Bruce Highway between Townsville and Ingham – a giant mango with arms and legs and a face, built in 2014 from steel and concrete, weighing about three and a half tonnes. It is a considerably more recent addition than most of Australia's oversized fruit, and it is quite deliberately not the same kind of object as its famous cousin two hundred kilometres south.
