FIELD GUIDE

The story

Five tonnes of mild steel, five metres by six and a half, in the shape of a single letter.
The Big G was unveiled at the entrance to the Gracemere Industrial Park on 18 August 2015, and it is about as conceptually spare as an oversized object gets. It depicts nothing. There is no animal, no produce, no mascot and no history in it – just the first letter of the town's name, fabricated at a scale that makes it a landmark.
