FIELD GUIDE
The story
Gaylord's brewery has a beer bottle for a landmark: a grain silo built in the shape of a Big Buck bottle, standing on the lawn.
Big Buck Brewery is at 550 S. Wisconsin Avenue, just off I-75 in Gaylord, a northern Michigan city that its tourism bureau calls the "Alpine Village" and describes as the highest city in the Lower Peninsula, at 1,348 feet. Northern Express reported that the restaurant opened in early 1995 and, in 2005, described its decor as including a 47-foot grain silo in the shape of a Big Buck beer bottle.
