FIELD GUIDE

The story

Thirty metres of eastern brown snake now lies across the roof of a building where staff milk the real thing for venom.
The Australian Reptile Park unveiled the sculpture in January 2025, describing it as the world's biggest brown snake statue: six metres tall at its highest, thirty metres long, weighing over three tonnes, and representing more than three thousand hours of work. It was built by Sculpt Studios in Queensland and installed in sections on the roof of the park's new Weigel Venom Centre, which had launched that December.
