FIELD GUIDE
The story
A white Brahman bull outside the heritage centre, and the town liked it enough to put it on a bottle opener.
The statue stands in Centenary Park outside the Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre, and the centre's own shop sells a fridge-magnet bottle opener in the shape of the bull, illustrated by the local designer Matilda Bishop. That is a small but telling detail: merchandise is the clearest evidence a community has adopted an object, because somebody had to decide it would sell.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The bull is a well-established Mareeba landmark tied to the district’s cattle identity. Current first-party material from the Heritage Centre explicitly identifies the large statue outside the building.
ACCESS
Navigate to the Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre, 345 Byrnes Street. The centre advertises free parking and the bull is outside the building, so viewing it does not require entering the paid museum exhibits.
