This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
Bessie the Cow is a fiberglass cow sculpture about 16 feet tall and 20 feet long, weighing roughly a ton, with an oversized milking stool and bucket beneath her. Installed in 1966 outside the Oasis restaurant, motel and cheese shop, she was moved a short distance in 2006 when that site was redeveloped and repainted. She now stands on Milton Avenue in Janesville.
