A giant fiberglass chile pepper, mounted atop a pole, is displayed at Bell Plastics, 2020 National Avenue, Hayward -- owner Bruce Kennedy's private "Land of the Giants" collection of vintage fiberglass advertising giants, which also includes muffler men, Doggie Diner heads, a Uniroyal Girl, and other oversized figures. The chile pepper is a recent addition to the collection, each figure independently sourced and displayed as its own distinct roadside giant; the collection and its Hayward site are documented by the San Francisco Chronicle, which profiled Kennedy's decade-plus restoration and preservation work.
