"Angelo Man" is an 8.5-foot-tall fiberglass "Papa Burger" statue -- one of the four-figure A&W Burger Family mascots introduced by A&W in 1963 -- now standing outside Angelo's Burgers at 2035 S Coast Highway in Oceanside. In 1977, when Tony Regakis opened his first Angelo's Burgers restaurant on the site of a former A&W Drive-In, he purchased the Papa Burger statue from Oceanside's other A&W location and it has greeted customers there ever since. A 2017 makeover gave the statue a painted-on mustache, eyeglasses, and an arm tattoo to match the restaurant's own branding.
